The original work is part of the popular light novel Seishun Buta Yaro (Rascal Does Not Dream) series by Hajime Kamoshida, which has printed more than 2.5 million copies.
In 2018, the television anime Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai and the theatrical anime Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl were released for public viewing.
The cute, heartbreaking, and intriguing stories resounded quite well with the audience. And now, the newest adolescent fantasy is illustrated and set in a town surrounded by the sea and the skies - Fujisawa.

Prologue

Sakuta Azusagawa is attending his third and last term as a second-year high school student. There are only a few days left to spend together at Minegahara High School with Mai Sakurajima, a third-year student and Sakuta’s girlfriend. Meanwhile, his younger sister Kaede, who has loved her house for many years, reveals a secret to Sakuta that she has never shared with anyone.

"I want to go to big brother’s school."

This is a big decision for Kaede.

Although Sakuta knows this is a difficult decision for her, he decides to gently support her. Little Kaede’s feelings are entrusted to Kaede. This is a story about these two as they take a step into the future.

    Kaede developed a case of Adolescence Syndrome that scarred her body as she suffered mental anguish from online bullying at the previous middle school she attended. The bullying caused her mental stress and memory loss. Two years after that, she developed a different personality known as "Kaede," who never left the house. Even after her memory returned, "Kaede" has taken over her endeavors and now she's working hard on going back to school like everyone else. With middle school graduation coming up soon, she worries about her future going forward.

Always filled with new topics, Tomoe is now on good terms with Sakuta as senpai and kouhai. She also works part-time with Sakuta at a family restaurant.

Suffering from loneliness, she has hurt herself using social media in the past and has experienced Adolescence Syndrome where two contradicting sides of her existed.

    Nodoka is Mai's younger-half sister from a different mother who's part of the idol group, Sweet Bullet. Everyone knows she's attached to her older sister and she keeps Sakuta in check so that he doesn't do anything bad to Mai. Nodoka gets along with Kaede and Mai dotes on her.
